U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Calls on Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi; Condemns Islamabad Blast

Islamabad, 18 November 2025(Kamran Raja): Acting U.S. Ambassador Natalie Baker called on Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi today in Islamabad. During the meeting, Chargé d’Affaires Baker strongly condemned the recent Islamabad blast and expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. She paid tribute to Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and acknowledged the country’s continued commitment to peace and security. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi informed the U.S. diplomat that the terrorist had intended to target the court premises but was unable to enter due to strict security measures. He noted that all individuals linked to the attack have been traced, the facilitators have been arrested, and a comprehensive investigation is underway.

Minister Naqvi emphasized that negotiations and terrorist attacks cannot proceed simultaneously. He reaffirmed that Pakistan-U.S. relations are founded on friendship and mutual trust. Acting Ambassador Baker appreciated Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts and reiterated the United States’ support in combating the menace of terrorism. The Inspector General of Islamabad Police and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
